sad day

Sad day at the Lab today. See weezer for details.

Flametastic

Huge flame war on a work mailing list today. Grand total of 48 messages. Doesn’t sound like much but for the volume of mail the list usually handles, it’s almost a months worth. The thread was about “IE only” web applications. The level of “not getting it” was amazing.
Oh and [...]

Comment Spam

Getting so much comment SPAM and I mean nasty SPAM on the Lab’s site, that and I decided to try and stop it. First round was a simple “enter this number here”, verification. Next round is a full fledged “captcha“.

A miracle

The Lab was clean last night. Now I’m not talking about the usual cleaning we get. I’m talking, the bathroom shines, roaches are gone, the tub sparkles., my desk dusted.

Cool Guy

Amazingly, this fellow visited MUSC last week. Had the opportunity to chat with him about open source, Linux, IBM and Jabber. Refreshing to meet someone that really does “get it”.

LART

User contacts the lab, complaining that they can’t SSH to one of our servers. The user in question claims to be a programmer and Unix knowledgeable. After going back and forth, we finally find out whats going on.
Lab: “What happens when you SSH in?”.
User: “All I see is luser@labserver:~$_“.

Ugh

Interesting day at work today. A certain group managed to piss me off enough to cuss on the phone.

the world ending

OMG Dadin got his hair cut!

Sloooowww week

I’m predicting a slow week in the ITLab.
Nathan – Gone
Robert – MIA
Christopher – Vacation
Brian D. – Afternoon shift
Just me and crawcram, keeping it real
