Movie Ads
Manage to sneak out of the house this weekend to see Munich. Wonderful movie, but that’s not what this post is about. This post is a praise for Regal Cinema. They have changed the way they present ads. Instead of showing ad, after ad, after ad, when the movie should be starting, they play them BEFORE the movie only. The movie began promptly at the scheduled/published time with only a few previews.

The fourth Harry Potter movie (Goblet of Fire) started on time too, so that’s a +1 for IMAX in downtown Charleston. Maybe they’re getting the fact that we’re already paying for this and trying to shove more ads in our face is just going to piss us off? Nah, bet someone leaned on them.
Some states have started to push a few laws through that would require theaters to start the movies at the published times. I bet this, rather than the complaints of moviegoers cause the change.
