I probably should have enclosed the previous post with <big_ugly_american></big_ugly_american>, as that is what I was attempting to convey. Given that the US had a large part(probably not the best link) to play in the current conditions in Guatemala, I/We should be very interested in whatever part we can play to help the people. Perhaps it’s their, understandably, fatalistic outlook that I find most hard to get past.

Something about Central/South America doesn’t do it for me. Have zero interest in the area and culture. Don’t know why??
